This means that, should you need to use an app or feature only available on Windows, you're not entirely screwed: you can do it directly from the laptop, without having to switch machines. However, the experience may not be exactly seamless.

If you want to use the MacBook Neo for light tasks - Word, Excel, email client, simple corporate web panels - things will likely work fine. The trouble starts to show when you push the system harder, like when editing videos on Windows, gaming, 3D modeling or running resource-intensive programs.

One of the biggest bottlenecks is the MacBook Neo's 8GB of unified memory, which is shared between macOS and the Windows virtual machine. Windows 11 already requires a minimum of 4GB to run reasonably well. If you're using this, you'll be left with very little wiggle room to allocate between the two systems. As a result, neither macOS nor Windows will feel particularly zippy, and you'll notice sluggishness, longer load times, and a general sense of something not being quite right.

In short, the MacBook Neo can technically run Windows 11 with Parallels, but it's not the ideal machine if you desperately need a powerful app from Microsoft. It's perfect for those cases where you need a simple app from the company, an old program that only runs on Windows, or occasional access to a tool that doesn't have a macOS version.

Parallels acknowledges that the testing and validation process is still ongoing, so expect to see more incompatibilities or minor issues emerging and being documented over time. Initial experiences have been stable, but not perfect, and the company is clear that there's still much to uncover in this regard.
